October 22, 2011

The above video shows an example of exceptional customer service. Shep Hyken, shares a story about how a cab driver gave him an experience he will never forget. This is what makes good customer service. Creating an experience within the service you are providing is far more then just providing a service.

Here are some key pointers to help you be not on a good customer service employee, But a great one!

 Be a good listener.

Listen to their words, tone of voice, body language, and most importantly, how they feel

Identify and anticipate needs.

Make customers feel important and appreciated.

Help customers understand your systems.

Appreciate the power of “Yes”.

Know how to apologize.

Give more than expected.

Build a relationship that shows you are not superior to them, but you are jus like them. (Ten Commandments by Susan A. Friedmann)
